Google launched Android 11 last September 08 to all its pixel phones. So, if you are a pixel owner, you should have the notification on your phone by now.
The Android 11 release happened after the operating system went through multiple beta programs and developer previews. The whole process took over six months to complete.
Android 11 Brings Better Communication
The new Android 11 brings changes to how you manage the different aspects of our communication, including messaging apps. Suppose you are a busy person who uses multiple messaging apps. In that case, you will be able to access all of them through a dedicated space listed within the notification section. Android 11 has brought more sweeping changes to the privacy of the user. They are doing is by providing more control to the user over their data and privacy. For example, they now introduced one-time permissions by which an app or service can access the device features such as camera, location, and microphone for one time. So, next time it runs, it will again ask for permission.
To help users protect their data furthermore, Android 11 will bring in an auto feature. There are many apps that you install on your Android, but never use it after some time. This is where Android 11 new feature comes in as it auto resets the unused apps’ permissions. It will also notify the user when it does that so you can revert back the permission if you feel so. Also, when you open the app next time, it will ask for the said permission.
The Google Team also wanted to streamline the security updates and fixes. To do so, they will now send them via Google Play, just like how your apps are updated. This means that you do not need to wait for standalone security patches that are installed via OS update.
The update didn’t talk about emulation via PC. So, in case if you are looking for Android emulators to run Android apps for PC, then you need to use the already available emulators. There are already many good options available, but most of them are stuck on old Android versions. We hope that Android 12 brings in in-built emulation for the best user experience.
Updates Rolling Out
