Dr Tristan Dunning is a sessional lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast and an honorary research fellow at the University of Queensland. He has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Queensland. He is the author of "Hamas, Jihad and Popular Legitimacy: Reinterpreting Resistance in Palestine" published in Routledge's Critical Terrorism Studies Series in February 2016. This book is based on extensive fieldwork in Palestine and the wider Levant. He is also the editor of "Palestine: Past and Present" published in 2019. He published journal articles in Critical Studies on Terrorism, Terrorism and Political Violence, and Small Wars and Insurgencies.
