With all the hype on electric cars let’s see for ourselves what Tesla Roadster 2020 has to offer.

Impressive specs

First, the Roadster 2020 packs in some of the best specs that you can ever have your hands on in a car right now:

  • Acceleration, 0-60 mph: 1.9 seconds
  • Acceleration, 0-100 mph: 4.2 seconds
  • Top Speed: Over 250 mph
  • Wheel Torque: 10,000 Nm
  • Mile Range:  620 miles
  • All-wheel Drive

This all-electric supercar will also feature a removable glass roof and surprisingly, a four-seater configuration in spite of all the crazy specs it has on paper.

Apart from these base specs, there is also an option for a “SpaceX package” which will equip the Tesla with ten rocket engines, known as cold air thrusters discreetly hidden in the license plate. Three thrusters will boost top speed, acceleration, manoeuvrability, braking, and cornering to otherworldly levels.

This package will propel the Tesla model as the fastest ever street-legal production car. However, that does remove the backseats in favour of the air tank and the compressor of the thrusters which must find their way into the car’s interior as well.

The prospect of flight

Apart from these thrusters improving the manoeuvrability of the car, Elon Musk also teased that these rocket engines will allow Roadster 2020 “to fly”. The car will fly in the sense that it will hover above the ground.

This feat is no less than impressive, given that it has never been done before. Elon Musk said that the hover tests will not be until the end of next year.

Not for everyone

Retailing at a whopping US$ 200,000 for the base version and a more shocking $ 250,000 for the Founders Series variant, the experience of a hovering, rocket-equipped car will be a luxury only a few can possess.
